AUSTRALIA – FREELANCER THIRD-QUARTER CASH RECEIPTS UP 9.4%
Freelancer , the Australia-based online freelance platform, reported cash receipts for the third quarter ending 30 September 2019 of AUD 14.3 million . This was an increase of 9.4% compared to the previous corresponding period.
Year-to-date cash receipts stood at AUD 42.6 million , up 12.4%.
Meanwhile third-quarter Freelancer Group Gross Payment Volume, defined as all fees generated plus gross marketplace volume , stood at AUD 197.8 million , up 5.4% while year to date group gross payment volume stood at AUD 598 million , up 8.4%.
During the third quarter, gross payment volume for the group’s Freelancer segment stood at AUD 45.7 million , up 7.0% over the previous corresponding period.
Freelancer’s Escrow.com business reported gross payment volume of AUD 152.1 million , an increase of 4.9% over the previous corresponding period. Excluding China, Escrow GPV was AUD 143.8 million , the third highest quarter on record.
The group added that its license application for the United Kingdom for Escrow.com is expected to lodge in 2019. The company expected to launch earlier but the process was delayed due to the launch in Canada in the third quarter.
